Graduate Consultant
The application process has 4 steps. First, submit your CV online. Second, an informal phone interview to go over your application and explain the role and interview process. Third, an interview with HR to assess your knowledge of Grayce, clients, and roles, and check for a growth mindset and necessary skills. Fourth, an interview with the line manager involving a 10-minute presentation about your background, interest in Grayce, and a business transformation case study. You'll also use Excel to present data. It was a pretty informal process with good instructions. Lots of research on Grayce and showing you're proactive and open to opportunities will help. Communication was good until the end when it took two weeks for a decision, which was a bit disappointing.
- Can you share an example of a project you're proud of from a professional context, not academic?
Digital Analyst
We started with a quick 10 min chat to get to know you and your background. Then, there was a 30 min call with HR where we discussed Grayce and your motivations for joining. After that, a 1-hour interview with a project manager involved a 10 min presentation about yourself and a comparison of successful and failed companies using excel graphs. This was followed by questions about corporate team structures and work methodologies, and more STAR questions. Finally, an online assessment tested your technical skills.
- Tell me about yourself in three words.
Project Manager
Applied for a job on LinkedIn and got a quick response from a recruiter who sounded really happy to invite me to interview. It was a great start! They kept in touch and even set up a call to help me prep, which I thought was really cool and showed they cared. I went through the stages and even did a presentation for the final interview. They said I'd hear back by the end of the next week, but then nothing came. Weeks passed, and my follow-ups through email and calls were totally ignored. No one even sent a rejection. It's disappointing because I put a lot of time into it, and their communication just stopped. It’s ironic given their value of ‘care’ — they really didn't seem to care about letting me know the outcome. I've stopped applying to them and usually just scroll past their ads now. Basic respect and communication should continue after the interviews are over. Grayce needs to do better.
- If you got the job and started, but had no idea who to ask or where to begin, what would you do?
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What makes you stand out compared to other people applying for this role?
Software Developer
So I interviewed in April 2024, and I got to stage 2, but then they didn't move my application forward. I asked for feedback and got a call back. They said everything was good, except they thought I should be 'mindful when probing the interviewer'. This was about my answer to the 'think outside the box' question, where I said it's unfair for uni students because we're told what to do and don't work on cutting-edge problems, so there are usually existing solutions. I also gave an example of a project where I used online resources to solve a problem. I was respectful, but I guess the manager didn't like my different perspective. It's a shame because I really wanted to join. Someone from Grayce at a job fair told me to email them about it, but they just said to reapply. Stage 1 was an interview with a hiring professional to learn about you and what you can bring to the Grayce team, focusing on your transferable skills, values, knowledge of the programme (Change+, Data+, or Tech+) and the business world. Stage 2 was an online interview with a Delivery Manager, including a presentation about yourself, an additional exercise, and competency/scenario questions. Stage 3, for the Digital learning pathway, had a final technical skills assessment to gauge your starting point for training and matching you to client needs.
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated unconventional thinking?
- Describe a time you thought outside the box.
