First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gong.
Technical Account Manager
I first chatted with the Recruiter (Austin King), then had standard interviews with the hiring manager, and then met with cross-functional leaders in a panel. Finally, I had sign-offs from senior leaders in the org. I can't say enough good things about the interview process at Gong, especially how supportive the recruiting team was. Everyone I met was impressive with their experience, questions, and thoughtful answers. The process was super smooth, including scheduling, which is usually tough. Austin was a great guide throughout. He checked in often about my progress and how I felt after calls, and helped me prep for parts I was nervous about. He really advocated for me during the offer stage and made sure all my questions were answered. Austin definitely set a high standard for recruiter/candidate interactions. Gong truly epitomizes a great interview process and it's clear why they attract and keep such great talent.

Account Executive
The process started with the Sales Recruiter reaching out on LinkedIn. We had a phone call where she was very open about the role and their requirements. Salary and expectations were discussed early on, which was appreciated. Next, I spoke with my potential manager. This was another good conversation that touched on my basic understanding of sales philosophy and strategy. I shared my background and asked about her management style and what success looks like on the team. Then, I did a mock discovery call with the manager and the Director of Sales. The recruiter prepped me well for this. It was straightforward, just a test of running a discovery call. With basic sales training, one should be comfortable with this, taking feedback live and trying again. Finally, I met with the regional VP for a culture fit assessment, which was a great chat. I got the offer later that day.
- Why do you genuinely want to work at Gong?
- Why Gong? This is deeper than it seems. Why do you actually want to join Gong? This shouldn't be a place you apply to just to land a job - they aren't looking to just bring on people to fill seats. They are strategically hiring people who are applying with intent.
Marketing Operations Manager
It was pretty simple. First, I had an HR screen, then I met with the hiring manager. HR asked about my background and some performance-based questions. The hiring manager asked one performance-based question and some general stuff about the role, like what tools I've used, why I want to work here, and my biggest weakness. It was a bad experience though. It took more than a week to even get the first interview scheduled, even though I was free the whole week. The hiring manager was the chief of staff because the previous head of marketing ops had left. She didn't seem to know much about marketing operations, which made sense given her background. I got rejected over the weekend. Make sure you have good answers for why you're looking for a new job and what you want in your next role. They asked standard questions about role responsibilities.

Director, Pricing & Packaging
The interview process at Gong is super organized and smooth. My recruiter, Austin King, is the best. He sent kind and encouraging messages on my interview days, which really helped. I told him that if everyone at Gong is like him, the company will be very successful. I did five interview rounds in just two weeks, which is really fast. Everyone I met was world-class, which shows the talent at Gong. I didn't accept the offer for personal reasons, but I really wish I could have joined. After the interviews, the hiring manager, CMO, and Austin called me. Each call confirmed my belief in Gong's culture, vision, and future. It's clear they have great values and talent.
- Can you describe how you would create a discount framework for specific scenarios (XYZ)?
