The interview process was really well organized. They had good Q&A sessions and expected answers using the STAR method. The questions were pretty typical for a sales role, like asking about my interest in Gong, a time I lost a deal, or a complex deal I managed to win.

The process started with the Sales Recruiter reaching out on LinkedIn. We had a phone call where she was very open about the role and their requirements. Salary and expectations were discussed early on, which was appreciated. Next, I spoke with my potential manager. This was another good conversation that touched on my basic understanding of sales philosophy and strategy. I shared my background and asked about her management style and what success looks like on the team. Then, I did a mock discovery call with the manager and the Director of Sales. The recruiter prepped me well for this. It was straightforward, just a test of running a discovery call. With basic sales training, one should be comfortable with this, taking feedback live and trying again. Finally, I met with the regional VP for a culture fit assessment, which was a great chat. I got the offer later that day.

So I interviewed for an account executive role, and it was a pretty involved process with five total stages. Over those five stages, I talked with a bunch of people from the sales leadership team. We went over what the job actually entails, what the company is trying to achieve, and how my background could fit in and help them hit their targets.
