Sales Engineer
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn to set up an interview. The interviewer emailed shortly before our scheduled call to suggest moving it up by 15 minutes, which worked with my schedule. This was unfortunately the worst interview experience because the interviewer seemed to be cooking for most of the call, shouting responses or questions from across the room, which was awkward. After the call, I was told they review everyone's abilities for the next step, but then I received a generic rejection email days later with no explanation. I'm glad I saw this, as I likely would have rejected an offer from a place that doesn't value people's time.

Sales Engineer
A recruiter named Austin King reached out via InMail. Although I was content in my current role and initially uninterested, Austin's outreach was compelling, leading me to accept a brief call. I'm pleased I did, as the interview process has been excellent, with Austin providing support throughout. He seems invested in ensuring a good mutual fit, inquiring about my career aspirations and goals to confirm alignment with Gong's needs, which they do. I'd previously declined numerous interview invitations, but Austin's approach made a significant positive impact, restoring my faith in recruiters. His genuine care was evident and made a real difference. Austin has been a fantastic representative for the company in talent acquisition. I'm glad I took his call, regardless of the offer outcome. The people and process have been great so far, and I'm looking forward to the next steps.
- Describe your approach to collaborating with Account Executives who have diverse personalities.
Sales Engineer
The interview process had a few parts: first a recruiter phone screen, then a call with the hiring manager. After that was a demo interview with another SE, then an interview with the sales manager, and finally an interview with the Director of SE. It felt like a long process overall but the recruiter Austin King was amazing. He communicated really well throughout the whole thing, setting expectations for each part and helping me get ready for each talk.
