The interview process was pretty straightforward and moved super fast. I had two initial chats, then a round of three interviews. These three interviews included people who would be my peers and my hiring manager, which was great for getting a feel for the team and the company culture. Honestly, the best part was how responsive and helpful the recruiter, Austin King, was. He made it the best interview experience I've ever had.

It began with a call from the internal recruiter, then a chat with the VP who is the hiring manager. After that, there was a panel presentation about a QB with some team members, followed by discussions with C-suite folks. Finally, a couple of reference checks were done. The recruiters were great communicators throughout and were able to adjust the schedule when needed. The VP even made himself available for unscheduled calls if I had any questions I was still thinking about. It was a really good experience overall.

Behavioral Presentation Technical

The interview process was pretty standard for a CS role, except for this ridiculous presentation part at the end. It was for a strategic CSM job, but they wanted me to present Gong and do role-playing questions about it. I tried to research as much as I could, but it's just impossible and dumb to ask candidates to role play a strategic position when they don't know your product. Unless you expect people to study for hours for free, there's no way anyone can be strategic without using the product. They rejected me because they wanted someone more strategic. I don't respect companies that expect you to be product experts and spend hours on presentations for free. Also, the recruiter said the hiring manager commented on my back posture not being straight enough. Like, really? Maybe they should Venmo me money for an ergonomic chair. My chair and posture aren't great, but how do they know I don't have scoliosis or other back issues? Totally inappropriate.
