The hiring process started pretty fast. I interviewed with a lot of great people over about 8 weeks, including panel interviews and 1-on-1 discussions. I was extended an offer, but then it was rescinded a week before I was supposed to start because of an issue found during the background check. This whole situation left me unemployed and in a tough spot, especially after leaving a secure job. Genworth's handling of this, particularly by the recruiter and HR team after the offer, was really disappointing.

It was a tedious and almost offensive experience. I have a strong background in vendor management, but not in finance, which I was very open about from the beginning. All of the 8 people I spoke with expressed concern for my ability to learn the business. It was demoralizing. But still they kept calling me to talk to more and more people. Then after speaking with 8 individuals throughout a 2 month process I got A 3 sentence generic rejection email.
