First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gap Inc..
Product Manager
First, there was a recruiter screen where they asked about my background, why I wanted to switch jobs, and gave me an overview of the role. The recruiter mentioned the hiring manager liked my profile and wanted to proceed. Then, I had a scheduled call with the hiring manager, but they didn't show up. After that, I was ghosted and never heard back from the recruiter.
- Can you share your experience in product management?
- What are your expectations for your next position?
- What motivates your job search at this time?
Rotational Management Program
First round was standard behavioral and background questions, although they read from a list the whole time and didn't care much about who you are. Then, there was a project round where I spent 30-40 hours on my project and only had a week to do it. They rejected me with no reasoning why. Waste of time and clearly don't value the people who invest time into their interview process.

Senior Manager
It was a three-step process. First, I interviewed with a Senior Manager for a technical interview. Then, I had a technical interview with a Staff Engineer. Finally, I had an interview with the Director where we discussed leadership, situational questions, how to develop developers, and decision-making strategy.
- What are your deployment strategies?
- Can you share an example of a risk you took?
- How do you approach developing a developer's career?
Big Data/Hadoop Developer
First, there was a group discussion where they checked our communication and speaking skills, and most importantly our leadership qualities like letting all members of the group speak at least once. Then, a technical round where they asked questions on various topics like DSA, oops, react and again some personal questions to know your thinking ability or ideology. Lastly, the HR round where they asked at least 3-4 questions. Stretch your answers and elaborate as long as you want but don't make it personal, keep it professional. Talk mostly about your technical background and achievements. Questions could be tricky when they ask you. You maybe temped or get confused on if it's personal or not, but they want a professional answer outlining your skills, works, projects and abilities.
- Can you share your journey from the past 3-4 years?
- Tell me about your journey that you had experienced or went through in the past 3 -4 years
