First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gap Inc..
Sales Associate
The interview process was really quick. They asked super basic questions that you could probably find by Googling or asking ChatGPT. It felt very easy, and I think 30 minutes of prep would be enough.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at Gap?
Sales Associate
It's important to be straightforward, but using your personable skills is just as important. Keep a friendly and approachable vibe since you'll be dealing with all sorts of customers and situations. As someone in retail, you should always aim to make shoppers feel welcome and good. Be ready to handle common retail situations.
- What's your approach to handling a difficult customer?
- How would you manage a customer who is being challenging?
- What steps would you take to create a positive shopping experience?
Sales Associate
You apply online, and there's this quiz thing, plus you can add your resume. This decides if they give you a call back for like a mini phone interview. Then, if you pass that, you have in-person interviews. They're kinda chill, usually one-on-one or in small groups. You'll chat with the hiring manager first, then the store manager. You don't usually need prior job experience, so it's a good place to start, and the interview isn't too stressful, but you'll learn stuff. They mostly want to see your personality and if you're good with people, to see if you'd fit in.
- What do you know about our products?
- Can you describe your communication skills?
- How well can you talk to customers?
