It was a three-step process. First, I interviewed with a Senior Manager for a technical interview. Then, I had a technical interview with a Staff Engineer. Finally, I had an interview with the Director where we discussed leadership, situational questions, how to develop developers, and decision-making strategy.

Had a good chat with HR about the job and my experience. We discussed benefits and salary. They said they'd be in touch for the next round. But then I got an email weeks later saying they chose other candidates. I didn't even get to speak with the manager. What a waste of an hour.

I filled out an online application. A few days later, the recruiter reached out to schedule an initial phone screen. About a week after that, the recruiter contacted me again to set up a Zoom interview with the hiring manager. I was told I'd hear back about next steps within the following week. However, I never heard anything back. No follow-up from the recruiter. After waiting two weeks with no word, I decided to move on. It's important to at least be courteous and provide feedback or an update to candidates, even if you're not moving forward. Even if that's not the intention, it creates a negative impression of the company and how employees are treated. I'm surprised by this experience, given Gap's core values and focus on being a people-centric organization.
