I spoke with the recruiter first. Then, I had a video call with a manager. After that, I went in person to meet with the manager and her colleague. They asked for my references, and they did call them, but then they changed their minds at the last minute and decided to offer the position to someone else. Very strange, no explanation given at all.

Technical Behavioral

I went through 2 technical rounds and an HR round. The technical rounds went well with positive feedback. However, the HR round was unusual. The HR person didn't discuss the role, compensation, or job location. When I inquired about these, she mentioned a role that was less than my current position. I stated my desired compensation. She didn't respond about whether that amount was feasible or not. It seems like this might be the first time I'm losing an offer due to an unprofessional HR interaction.
