Product Manager
I had an interview set up with HR. When the call started, they told me that the role had actually changed and it wasn't a good fit for me anymore, before I even got a chance to say anything. It probably wasn't a good fit based on what they were looking for, but it was a bit frustrating since I had prepared for the interview and all.
- Can you share details about your general experience?
Corporate Strategy
It started with a recruiter screen, then virtual interviews with the team and a panel interview with other stakeholders. I only had the recruiter screen. The questions felt a bit disorganized and like there wasn’t a full understanding of the role itself, though the recruiter was very nice. I then got an automated message of next steps before a different automated message that they would not be moving forward with my application.
- What is the usual audience for your presentations?
Sales Associate
They want to see if you're genuinely into sneakers and streetwear culture, so be ready to chat about your favorite brands, any new drops you're hyped about, and how you keep up with what's hot. They'll also hit you with some situational questions about dealing with tough customers, being a team player, and hitting those sales targets. The hiring folks are usually more into finding someone who can really connect with customers authentically, not just someone who's going to push product. So, focus on how you'd assist someone in finding the perfect shoe for them, rather than just closing a sale.
- Tell me about your knowledge of sneakers.
Manager
The recruiter called me about 20 minutes after I applied. The vibe was a bit off, and it wasn't the best interaction. They didn't ghost me, which I appreciate, but if they were having a rough moment, it would have been better to reschedule. Candidates put in a lot of effort, so it'd be nice if that effort was reciprocated.
- Can you tell me about your background and past experiences?
- What are you looking for in a role?
- What are the constraints or limitations associated with this position?
