Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Foot Locker.
Manager
The recruiter called me about 20 minutes after I applied. The vibe was a bit off, and it wasn't the best interaction. They didn't ghost me, which I appreciate, but if they were having a rough moment, it would have been better to reschedule. Candidates put in a lot of effort, so it'd be nice if that effort was reciprocated.
- Can you tell me about your background and past experiences?
- What are you looking for in a role?
- What are the constraints or limitations associated with this position?
Assistant Manager
The interview started off well with the Store Manager conducting it initially. However, the Store Manager seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and then the District Manager took over the interview. The District Manager asked some really challenging questions that made me reflect critically, so overall it wasn't a terrible experience.
- What strategies would you use to motivate unmotivated employees if you were hired?
Management Trainee
Applied online for Sneaker Jobs, and two weeks later, I had a phone interview with an employee. The very next day, I was invited for an in-person interview with the district manager. It was a quick 15-minute chat, mostly small talk.
- What are your shopping habits?
