First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FleishmanHillard.
Diversity Fellow
It started with a phone screen, then I was given a timed written test with about 5-7 short-answer questions that covered media, social, research, and proofreading. If they liked my assessment, I then had an in-person interview. The last step was a virtual interview with someone from the DE&I team. It was a pretty standard process, though kind of slow. I had to nudge the recruiter a few times for updates.
- What are your thoughts on the significance of DE&I in public relations?
Account Executive Intern
The application process felt long and stalled. It included a test, a video interview, and then a final in-person interview. The whole thing was handled poorly. The final interview took place in a small, hot room with two senior employees. They asked a lot of questions and it didn't feel like a conversation at all, more like an interrogation. It wasn't super hard, but the vibe was really weird and uncomfortable.
- If a journalist printed false or damaging information about your client, how would you handle it? (Crisis comms)
Account Supervisor
It was a pretty standard interview process. First, I talked to a recruiter, then a team member, then the business leader. After that, I had a 1.5-hour interview with several people, and then met with another leader. It felt a bit drawn out, and there wasn't much communication back from the manager, although HR was great.
- Tell me about a time you had to provide customer service to a client you disagreed with.
Account Executive
We started with a writing test that we had to do virtually, which included drafting a press release, summarizing information, and writing a client-facing email. We were given two hours for this part. Then, there was a virtual interview with three members of the team.
