I had a single interview round. It was on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and I got the offer on Friday. It really depends on who interviews you, so you should check the process with your interviewer. The person who interviewed me wasn't my manager or even their manager's manager, but they were pretty chill and non-traditional. I think that's why I got the offer over the other two candidates.

The interview process involved some behavioral questions and then a basic coding question at the end. They asked about my background and my motivation for joining the company. It was a pretty chill and casual vibe.

The interviewers were nice and courteous and all seemed to go well. But after round 2, they did not go ahead with my application. They did not get back to me on their own. I had to email and ask what the status was. I would have liked to know the reason but the team did not provide any (even though I asked specifically). It helps the interviewee in future experiences.

My experience interviewing with Crown Castle for a role took about two months and was pretty rough and unprofessional. It started with good communication from the recruiters, but it just faded away until there was no contact at all. Even though I got to the final stage and was one of the last three people for the job, the lack of follow-up was really disrespectful. The worst part was after I did a whole hour-long case study presentation that I spent a lot of time preparing for unpaid. Then the hiring manager told me my presentation style was criticized because I said 'um' too much and stood up instead of sitting. He said the content was fine, but the team didn't like how I presented it. It felt like they were being super picky and trying to change my personality instead of valuing what I know. They kept talking about small things like being able to wear jeans to work as a big cultural perk, which shows what's important to them. Also, they have this strict rule about being in the office four days a week for eight hours straight, which seems really inflexible. The pay they offered for a Director job was way lower than what's normal for this kind of role, especially with the experience needed. As I went through the interviews and learned more about the company's culture and how they manage things, I realized it wasn't the right place for me. In my last conversation, I agreed to redo the presentation the way they wanted, but after that, they just disappeared. No one from the company reached out. I can't respect a company that leaves finalists hanging after they've put in so much time. My advice to anyone looking at Crown Castle is to be careful. The more you find out about their process and culture, the less attractive it gets. Their lack of professionalism and respect for candidates' efforts makes me think they want everyone to be the same and don't really value individuals.
