First, there was a phone interview that lasted about 20-25 minutes. It was a pleasant conversation with standard interview questions. Then, I had an in-person interview at their office. One person was there, and another joined via teleconference. They were all very nice and pleasant. The questions were standard. I got there early, and they started the interview ahead of schedule, so no waiting. I also got a tour of the office. It was a really easy experience overall.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The whole thing took about 2 months. Started with a phone call from HR, then an in-person meeting with two directors and three specialists. After that, I had to do a case study, and then a phone call to go over my answers. The final step was a phone interview with two directors. The last interview was the most important, but one of the directors seemed really uninterested and was driving during the call. He was rude and cut me off. I felt like he had already decided before we even spoke. This whole process took two months, and I had to use my PTO/sick days for all the interviews. It's frustrating that the entire process didn't matter as much as what one director thought during a short phone call. It felt like a total waste of my time.

First I had a phone call with a recruiter who sounded really interested in me. Then they set up an in-person interview at their local office. The face-to-face interview was pretty bad. It turns out I had interviewed for the exact same job but in a different office a few months back. The interviewer from that first time was in the room for this interview, along with another woman who was actually doing the interviewing. They asked the same questions as before, like 'Tell me a time when...', but they were all about management, even though the job isn't a management role. Maybe that's how Crown does things. The interviewer seemed unprepared and was reading questions straight off her laptop like she'd never seen them. The whole thing was ridiculous, and I was glad to get out of there. I also don't think much of companies that use temp-to-perm hiring to 'test' people out.
