Basically, there isn't a formal interview. They just check your academic records to decide what subjects you can teach. For example, if you took a history class, you'll probably get history-related questions if you're applying for that role. And I'm guessing your grades also matter if they accept you at all.

So first there was like a quick call with the recruiter, then I had this take-home coding challenge that took me about an hour. It was about parsing out department, course number, year, and season from different kinds of strings, you know, like 'CS111 Fall 2016' or 'CS:111 16 F'. After that, there was a tech interview that involved more coding. They built on the take-home task, asking to handle cases where the same course was entered multiple times – you shouldn't get duplicates in the output. And then also sorting the results, first by year, and if the years were the same, then by department.

Technical Presentation

So, the interview process was pretty well put together. It kicked off with an HR screening, followed by a quick chat with the hiring manager. After that, there were a few rounds of tests and then a presentation. I was genuinely impressed with how organized it all was, it was actually the best interview process I've been through. The number of steps felt a bit much at first, but each one really felt like it was there for a reason related to the job.

  • Describe your experience with the technical aspects of email marketing.
  • How would you handle the technical responsibilities outlined for an email marketing manager?

Applied via LinkedIn and got contacted by the recruiter quickly. The recruiter interview (30ish mins) went well. Next was a 60 min interview with the hiring manager, but she missed it. We rescheduled and the interview was intense, felt like an interrogation, didn't get good vibes. Then I had to submit an assignment. After that, an EIGHT-HOUR interview with the whole team. The last hour was with the HM again, going into extreme detail about my assignment, asking about every single word choice, which was ridiculous. Then a final 90min interview with the HM where she asked the same questions as before, talked about assignment word choices again, and it felt like an interrogation. She also emailed me at midnight once. The recruiter called to say they're moving forward with other candidates because I lack ONE skill (which was on my resume). The role was reposted many times after and I don't think they hired anyone.
