It was pretty straight forward, and about 2-3 rounds of interviews. The first round, I met with 2 members of the team, along with the director. The second interview was with another team member. The last & final one was with the director of the team. Later on in the week of the final interview, I got an offer!

Had a straightforward in-person chat with the Store Manager (SM). It was pretty casual and chill. They mostly wanted to talk about my soft skills and how the store runs. They were really trying to find someone who's good with people and knows about or is into sales and clothes.

It started with a recruiter call, then two interviews with creative leaders. I was given a design test with vague instructions to create paid and organic social media assets for their denim, as they wanted to revamp that area. I think this is a red flag because it sounds like they want free ideas. I was asked to redo the design test, this time in my portfolio's style, and create a deck with explanations. They apologized for unclear instructions, but they were still vague. The interviewer also really pushed for me to create a reel or motion graphics. It felt disrespectful of my time and work to ask for fully developed social media assets for free and then decide if they were worth hiring me. So I withdrew my application.

I wasn't actively looking for a new job, but a recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. After a couple of initial calls with the recruiter, I spoke with the hiring manager, then two other people in the organization, and finally had another follow-up conversation with the hiring manager. During one of the interviews, the interviewer seemed unsure about why they were talking to me and had to confirm the role. This was a new position they were creating, and it seemed like they were creating other roles too, so I'm not sure if they were genuinely confused or just hadn't defined the job descriptions well. Even after four interviews, I never heard back from Chicos. I sent follow-up emails but got no response. It's okay not to be selected, but I thought we were past the point of HR or hiring managers completely ghosting candidates without any feedback.
