First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chico's FAS.
Assistant Manager
I went to the store and applied. The Manager was there and I chatted with her. The next day, she called to set up an interview. We met in the back at a small table. She asked a lot about my work history, selling skills, and how I'd approach selling her the outfit she was wearing. She also asked about my strengths and weaknesses and requested a third reference. The interview, about 30 minutes, concluded with her saying I'd meet the District Manager. The following evening, I had a brief, 15-minute chat with the District Manager that felt like a casual conversation. The next afternoon, the Manager called with an offer.
- What's your strategy for dealing with a challenging customer?
- What makes you want to be employed here?
- Can you tell me about your previous work experiences?
Assistant Manager
I got a call to come in for an interview at the store I applied to. I got there 15 minutes early but still ended up waiting half an hour past my appointment time cause the DM was late. She didn't even apologize when she got there and then rushed through the interview. I never heard back from them. It was a really bad experience at that store.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
Management
This was the best interview process I've ever been through. It was more like a conversation than an interrogation. We got to know each other, which is different because most companies only focus on you. Getting to know each other is important because, let's be honest, people work for people.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
