First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chico's FAS.
Store Manager
The interview process started with a recruiter call, followed by a phone screen. Then there was an onsite interview where they asked me a bunch of questions. Some were situational, like 'Tell me a time when someone ruffled your feathers. How did you handle it?' or 'Tell me about a time when you knew you were right, but someone with higher authority over ruled you.' They also asked about what qualities I look for in a supervisor and the first thing I notice when I walk into a retail store. After that, there was a background check, and then an offer.

Store Manager
The interview process wasn't that long. I was already a lower-level manager here. The interview wasn't really professional; the upper management and another internal applicant already knew they'd hire the outside candidate they talked to 3 months ago. Even though current employees are encouraged to apply for higher positions, upper management doesn't often promote from within.
- What makes you feel you merit this promotion?
Assistant Store Manager
It started with an online questionnaire, then I had an initial face-to-face meeting with the Assistant Manager. I was initially hired as a Sales Associate, but then they interviewed me again and I was accepted for a Sales Lead position. Later, I met with the District Manager and told them I was interested in an Assistant Store Manager role when one opened up. Because of some employee changes in Orange County stores, the District Manager contacted me to see if I'd be interested in that position at a large store. I then interviewed with the District Manager and got the job.
