So first I had a chat with the recruiter on the phone. Then, the hiring manager interviewed me for the first round. They both asked me general questions about my background, why I'm interested in this job, and stuff from my resume. The whole thing was professional, friendly, and they were quick to schedule everything.

They hold job fairs regularly. You can show up anytime between 11 am and 7 pm, drop off your resume, and answer some basic questions like: 'Can you lift 50 lbs?', 'Are you able to operate a forklift or pallet jack?', 'What's your availability?', and 'What's your favorite outdoor activity?'. You wait with other candidates until your turn. Then, you're taken to their lunch room for the interview, where other candidates are also being interviewed at the same time.

I interviewed with Josh who told me they were in urgent need of staff due to a resignation and that my availability matched their needs. Given my extensive retail and some management background, we also touched on a potential supervisor opening. I was expecting to hear back by Tuesday, with instructions to contact McKenzie in HR on Wednesday if not. Despite calling on Wednesday and leaving a message, I only received an email notification that they had hired someone else. This lack of direct communication from both the hiring manager and HR was unprofessional and left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.
