First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ZOLL Medical.
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process was great. They had two phone interviews, then an in-person interview that lasted 4 hours. Each person got 30 minutes to interview with them. Afterwards, they showed us the production floor, which was like a full factory with all the equipment needed for testing and assembly. It was really good to see that manufacturing is still happening in the United States.

Quality Assurance Engineer
My first contact was super nice and communicative, which made me think Zoll would be a great place to work. But then the next person I talked to was incredibly rude. He kept pressing me about why I wasn't hired out of my contract job, even after I explained it wasn't a contract-to-hire thing. It felt like he was trying to catch me in a lie or blame me for not being converted. This was my second interview, and because of how he acted, I told my initial contact I was pulling my application. If that's how it's going to be working with him, I'm not interested.
- Could you explain the distinction between a class and an interface in C#?
Sales Manager
The interview process was unresponsive, unimaginative, unprepared, and inconclusive, bordering on insulting. It consisted of three rounds for a senior national corporate level Sales Manager position. During the first interview, the interviewer shared details about a boozy trip to Napa and showed pictures of women, with suggestive undertones. There were no insightful questions asked, nor was the role, responsibilities, or success metrics clearly defined. The interview had misogynistic overtones, suggesting the company (Zoll) is out of touch with the Me-Too movement. To top it off, after a month, there was still no update on the job offer status.
- What is your spirit animal?
Contract Manager
Seriously, avoid this company. The job listing and interviews are fake, just a way to promote their own employees. I went through 4 rounds of interviews, including a super long 3.5-hour in-person one at their Chelmsford office. They actually rushed me through them back-to-back, which makes sense now because it was all set up for an internal promotion. They took the job posting down the day after my interviews and then ghosted me for two weeks, even though they were pushing me to do those interviews one after another. The HR and hiring managers are good actors, they'll try to convince you that you're the only candidate and that it's been tough finding people for the role. Then, when you follow up, they'll suddenly say they're interviewing others. It's really unethical and sneaky. They keep posting jobs that have been open for months, saying they can't find the right people, but really they already have someone internally and are just going through the motions with their shady hiring practices.
