Behavioral Presentation

My interview process with Xebia kicked off nicely. I went through three interview rounds that were pretty standard and I felt I was able to showcase my experience well. The HR recruiter was helpful and kept me in the loop, and everyone was really friendly. But, after the third interview, they told me about a role they "just got" even though the interviews were basically done. This role wasn't a great fit for my background, but it was the only one offered, so I was willing to see it through. Then, I had a client call, which they said wasn't a formal interview but more of a "vibe check." During this call, I was asked to present myself as part of Xebia, even though I wasn't hired yet. The call itself went okay. About a week later, I got a quick message on LinkedIn saying the client had changed the project details, and the process wouldn't continue. The people were nice, but the whole thing felt disorganized and confusing towards the end, especially after all the interviews and the expectations set.

The interview process started with a skill assessment test online which was about 1 to 2.5 hours long. Then, there was a group discussion online. After that, a technical interview online lasting 30-45 minutes. This was followed by a structured interview in person for 30-45 minutes. Finally, there was a concluding interview online for 30-45 minutes.

Behavioral Technical

A recruiter reached out to me, and they were super professional and attentive. They confirmed that my background, communication, and leadership abilities matched the job requirements and told me I was moving on to the next step, which was the technical part. But then, I got a generic message saying, 'We've reviewed your profile and decided not to move forward with your application for this specific role at this time...' It felt off and disrespectful because I never actually got to the technical interview stage to show what I could do. If the technical team can reject people without an interview, it would be better and more respectful to candidates to get them involved earlier. This way, the recruiter would only talk to candidates the technical team already approved, cutting down on unnecessary screening calls and saving everyone time.

Technical

The technical interview itself was actually pretty good. The person interviewing me knew their stuff and was respectful, and we had a really good technical discussion. But then it all went south because of the recruiter. After the interview, the HR recruiter just went completely silent. No feedback, no updates at all. It's a shame, seems like this is pretty common with HR these days, and this just proved it again. To make things even worse, the salary they offered was less than what's normal for this kind of job. It wasn't just a little disappointing, it was like they weren't even aware of market rates. So yeah, it was a pretty frustrating and totally unnecessary waste of my time. The technical part had promise, but the recruiting side was unprofessional and really discouraging.
