First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The North Face.
Store Supervisor
I had two interviews, the first was over Zoom and felt really positive. The second one was in person at the store, and it was a bit odd. The manager seemed really cold, blunt, and distracted. Before a quick chat in the office, I had to complete two tests in the shop. Honestly, if I'd been offered the job, I probably would have declined it because of her attitude.

It started with an intro and discussion of past experiences, specifically at Meta. Then came a coding challenge asking to implement Two Sums blindly and then Untouch Keyboard. Next, I had to implement Three Sum without talking, and then open my eyes. Finally, I was asked to implement a design for a timing bomb program.

Material Developer
Started with a recruiter phone screen, then a call with the hiring manager. Next, there was a panel interview with the material director, two material managers, the innovation director, and the sourcing director. The final stage was an in-person interview with four separate one-hour sessions: one with the hiring manager, one with a senior developer, one with two cross-functional managers, and a final one with the innovation director and sourcing director.

Sales Associate
The whole process usually has a few steps. First, there's a quick chat to see if you're basically qualified. Then, you'll likely have a few longer interviews with the people who would be your boss or colleagues. They'll want to talk about your skills, how you solve problems, and if you'd fit in with the team. Sometimes, you might get a practical task or a case study to work on. Usually, they'll check your references before making a final decision. It's important for everyone to communicate well and be prepared during this time.
