I spoke with Caitlyn (Talent Acquisition Specialist) for my first interview. We talked about the job requirements and my background. She mentioned that some people in similar roles weren't happy with the physical demands and the cleanliness involved. You'll be calling on hardware stores and need to be okay with getting your hands dirty stocking and merchandising products. It's not a formal, suit-and-tie job. After that, I had four more interviews before getting an offer.

Behavioral Technical Case

Caitlyn started by getting a good grasp of my background and experience. She clearly laid out the whole process, so I knew what to expect. The interviews were well put together, and she set up meetings with the District Area Manager and Regional Manager. The last HR call was also smooth and gave me a good feel for the company culture and benefits.

A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn and scheduled a call. Then, I had my first interview with the hiring manager, which went really well. Later that day, they scheduled another interview for the next week. The third interview also went well, leading me to what I thought was the final round: three 30-minute interviews back-to-back, though they ended up running longer. The first interviewer was late and seemed unprepared, not knowing my resume or the position. The next two interviews were good. A few days later, I had one last, intense 45-minute interview and was told I'd hear back soon. However, days turned into weeks. I reached out to everyone I interviewed with, including the recruiter, but got no response. A month after the silence, they relisted the job. It felt like a huge waste of time and effort for a role they initially wanted me to apply for.

Behavioral Technical

I had a phone call with the recruiter, then a video call with the hiring manager, followed by interviews with the hiring manager's boss and a peer. It was a pretty normal, casual style interview. I think I did okay, but they were still deciding if the role would be in-person in St. Louis or fully remote, so I'm not sure how many other people were interviewing. After that, I just got ghosted and never heard back from the recruiter.
