First, there was a phone screening. Then I got a call asking me to come in for an in-person interview. A couple of weeks later, I had my onsite interview, which they scheduled around my school. I met with the manager and some of the people I'd be working with.

I saw this job posting on my university's career center site. After applying online, I had a phone interview a week later. They let me know about the next steps the same week as the phone interview and scheduled an onsite interview once I gave them my availability. Both the phone and onsite interviews went really well.

Super unprofessional experience. Took ages, over two months. Applied by email, had a HR chat, then a manager phone call. They said they'd fly me out, but then said it was too expensive, which was weird for a big company. So, we did 3 Skype interviews with managers. Ended up doing 4 Skype interviews 'cause they forgot to send invites for one. Interviews went okay, and they said I'd get an offer. A few days later, they called about the offer email and how to accept. I asked if they could help with housing since the internship was only 3 weeks away and they'd already planned to fly me out. They initially said no housing bonus, but I figured it was worth a shot. They said they'd check. Later that day, they called to cancel the offer because I asked about housing help for an internship starting soon, far away. I was stunned. They could have just said no to the housing, but taking back the offer? So unprofessional, especially since asking for housing help is common. It's even more ridiculous given that I was understanding when Spectrum Brands, a huge company, canceled flights for budget reasons and messed up interview scheduling. Yet, Spectrum Brands couldn't be accommodating or understanding to a broke student needing housing help to be THEIR intern.
