Marketing Manager
I was contacted by the HR rep in the US for a role in North York. They seemed to be in a rush to hire, as the HR rep was really pushing for an interview the same week she reached out - I even had to cancel a doctor's appointment for an elderly family member. I went in for the interview with the hiring manager, and it seemed to go well. However, there was a lack of organization; I had prepared for the category the HR rep mentioned, but the position was actually for a different category. After that, I was told I'd be interviewing with the divisional head. She also wasn't clear about the specific job I was applying for. Post-interview, she basically told me I was the top candidate (which seemed odd to be told during an interview). She mentioned the HR rep would contact me for the final interview with the VP of the division. I waited a week and then reached out to the HR rep to schedule, but she never replied. I followed up three more times via phone and email, but this HR rep and company didn't even bother to respond. It was the most unusual interview process I've ever experienced. I'm surprised a company of this size has such an unprofessional and poorly communicated interview process. If this is how they treat external candidates, I can only imagine what it's like working there. I'm glad I didn't end up taking the job.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Digital Marketing Manager
I had a straightforward interview with a team of three people from the marketing department. They asked standard questions using the STAR method. The interviewers were open to answering questions about their experience at the company, though not in great depth. I was offered the job within a week of interviewing.
- Can you tell me about your experience with home appliances, whether from a professional or personal consumer standpoint?
Trade Marketing Manager
I was hired by the old Applica management. Basically, it was a full day of interviews scheduled back-to-back with hardly any breaks or time for lunch. The interviews were challenging, with tough questions, and you could tell the interviewers weren't happy with the company. They were pretty upfront, saying things like, 'You're probably going to hate it here'.
- Could you propose a fix for our current Walmart business development plan in two sentences or fewer?
