First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sophos.
Customer Success Manager
I had a recruiter phone screen, then a second interview with the Hiring Manager and Director. The interviews felt rushed and the Director wasn't very engaged. They said I'd hear back by the end of the week but I never did, and the role was reposted. I wasn't actively looking, so I get that timing and fit can change. But timely feedback is good for candidates and makes the company look good. The pay for this Sr. role seemed low for the experience and security qualifications they wanted. For companies wanting experienced CSMs with cybersecurity certs, competitive pay is important, and I don't think this is it.

AI Developer
I had a bad experience interviewing at Sophos. I was first told there'd be an HR call and then a hiring manager discussion, which went well. After that, I was expecting a one-on-one focusing on my past experience. But surprisingly, when I logged in, there were three interviewers from different departments. They all asked random questions, and then out of nowhere, it turned into a live coding test. It was confusing and felt really disorganized. They said I'd hear back in a few days, but I had to chase them with 7-8 emails to finally get a rejection saying 'other candidates were better.' No real feedback was given. It was super disappointing and unprofessional, with zero transparency and terrible communication. I felt my time wasn't valued.

Product Marketing Manager
The interview process at Sophos was really refreshing. I spoke with the recruiter and then the hiring manager, who was great. I didn't advance to the next stage, but the recruiter called me back with kind feedback from the hiring manager, which was unexpected and fantastic. I've never been rejected and felt good about it, but Sophos managed to do that. This positive experience made Sophos a top company for me if a future role opens up. I'm really thankful for the great candidate experience with the Sophos team.
- Could you describe your approach to planning and executing global marketing campaigns while also considering cultural differences?
Threat Analyst
Cybersecurity analyst interviews usually dig into basics like networking (TCP/IP, firewalls), security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, scanners), common attacks (malware, phishing, DDoS, ransomware, SQL injection), OWASP Top 10, incident response, security best practices, and regulations. You might get scenario questions too, to see how you think and solve problems during incidents. Talk about your tech experience and knowledge of current threats. Showing you love cybersecurity and always learning is key.
- Can you describe a real-time ransomware attack?
