Director
I applied directly and then went through a few interviews with HR and the Hiring Manager. One of those interviews was weird because I had to do it after work hours. They said they'd let me know the decision within a week after the last interview, but I never heard back at all, no feedback, nothing.
- Tell me about the size of teams you've managed. Also, what was the scope of the projects you handled and how many did you manage at once? And how did you deal with tough situations?
- What was the scale of those projects?
- How have you handled difficult situations?

I interviewed for this job in October 2024, and it felt like it may not have been truly available. The process included an HR screen, a hiring manager interview, and a reasonable take-home assignment. I advanced to the final stage, where I presented the results of the assignment, but I did not receive an offer. While the interviews and assignment were fair and well-structured, I noticed that the job posting was repeatedly reposted after my interview, which gave the impression that filling the role might not have been a high priority. Overall, the process was professional, but it left me questioning whether the company was fully committed to hiring for this role at the time.

Revenue Manager
It was a really long interview process. Everyone I spoke with was super nice and interesting. However, the two case study parts, one a panel interview and the other a challenge, were tough and required specific knowledge in Revenue Management or Pricing. Just having a finance background wouldn't be enough. The steps were: HR call and a call with a manager, mostly asking basic stuff about your background, experiences, and why you want the job. Then a call with a stakeholder, which was a bit more formal, and they recommended preparing your own questions to make a good impression. After that, there was a challenge to do in 48-72 hours, which involved an excel sheet with pricing strategy questions where I had to explain my reasoning and methodology. It was a really extensive exercise, so be ready to invest a lot of time and effort. The next part was a live case study during a panel interview, where they presented graphs and asked related questions to test my live logic and analysis skills. I found it quite difficult and the questions were confusing. I didn't make it to the final stage, but I heard it would have been a final call with another stakeholder.
- How can we improve our revenue given our current business model?
- Could you tell me about your background in revenue management?
Hospitality Operations Specialist
My experience was frustrating. It started with a good recruiter call, but then the second interview with a local team member was a mess. I joined the Zoom call on time, but the interviewer never showed up. They later emailed blaming me for missing the interview, and then it took a week to reschedule. The next interview was also a no-show, and I received no confirmation if it was a Zoom call or phone call. I gave up after waiting, feeling like I wasn't meant for the job. I'm burnt out in my current role and was excited about Sonder, but this whole experience was unprofessional and a waste of my time.
