Revenue Manager
It was a really long interview process. Everyone I spoke with was super nice and interesting. However, the two case study parts, one a panel interview and the other a challenge, were tough and required specific knowledge in Revenue Management or Pricing. Just having a finance background wouldn't be enough. The steps were: HR call and a call with a manager, mostly asking basic stuff about your background, experiences, and why you want the job. Then a call with a stakeholder, which was a bit more formal, and they recommended preparing your own questions to make a good impression. After that, there was a challenge to do in 48-72 hours, which involved an excel sheet with pricing strategy questions where I had to explain my reasoning and methodology. It was a really extensive exercise, so be ready to invest a lot of time and effort. The next part was a live case study during a panel interview, where they presented graphs and asked related questions to test my live logic and analysis skills. I found it quite difficult and the questions were confusing. I didn't make it to the final stage, but I heard it would have been a final call with another stakeholder.
- How can we improve our revenue given our current business model?
- Could you tell me about your background in revenue management?
Sales Manager
I chatted with the HR director for the West Coast, based in SF, over the phone. The questions were pretty typical, focusing on my background and what I'd want to focus on.
- Can you describe your work style?
- Do you consider yourself more focused on operations or management?
- Tell me about a project where your skills were really tested.
Revenue Manager
I applied online and heard back from HR about 2-3 weeks later. That call went well, and I then moved on to speak with someone in a similar role. At the end of that conversation, they said they'd recommend me to move forward. After that, I connected with the HR person again, and she told me I'd be getting a case study soon. A week passed with no case study, so I followed up with the HR person. No reply. Another week went by, and I sent another follow-up email, still no response. A few weeks after that, I sent one last follow-up to the person I interviewed with, but again, no response. It's pretty frustrating to be told you're moving on and then get completely ghosted on all follow-ups.
- Asked to respond to a laid-out scenario without any information being displayed on screen, requiring you to recall it from memory.
