Revenue Manager
After submitting applications, candidates went through screening calls. Then, they had to show their skills with assessments. After that, they met with interview panels. They talked about their experience and if they were a good culture fit. They got feedback, then references were checked, and they were told about the hiring decision quickly.

Project Manager
Overall a smooth experience interviewing here. It was an easy interview process overall. The HR and other employees I interacted with were really helpful. The stock options are great, definitely better than the average in the industry. I'd really recommend more people to apply for jobs at this company.
- How are you today?
Graduate Trainee
The interview process begins with an online assessment, which includes both situational judgement and ability tests. If you successfully pass the online assessment, you will then proceed to a video interview. The following questions are from the 2025 entry graduate scheme.
- What aspects of working at Skanska appeal to you, and what contributions do you believe you can make to this graduate position?
- During the Skanska graduate scheme, what specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors are you aiming to acquire?
Business Applications Specialist
I recently interviewed with Skanska for a role that came up, and since I was a former employee and we parted on good terms, I applied since I was looking for a new opportunity. The greeting was usual, the new offices were nice, and the interview room was comfy with sofas, so that was all good. The interview felt like a stage 2 at Skanska, focusing on their values, and I thought it went really well. I didn't get the job, which is fine, no hard feelings, and they offered feedback, which is always good for improvement. However, the feedback was a bit strange. They said I was confident but needed development in tech and experience. This was odd considering I have over 20 years of IT experience with all the necessary certifications, and the interview didn't have many technical questions, focusing more on culture, plus the manager admitted to being non-technical. I consider myself a good engineer who can figure things out from scratch, so I wanted to share this for others interviewing for tech jobs to avoid being put off by unusual feedback. I've thought about why I got this feedback, and it seems Skanska might be losing its 'human element,' as mentioned in other reviews. In a values-based interview, without clear guidance on how values apply practically, there seems to be a disconnect between assessing the individual and fitting them into a 'cookie cutter' mold for the role. Skanska used to focus on people, but that seems to have been lost, and the feedback was just peculiar.
- How do you approach interacting with people in different situations?
- Can you share an instance of how you handle interpersonal interactions?
- What are your strategies for managing diversity?
