First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Skanska.
Estimator
So, the interview process started with a couple of phone calls, one with the Senior VP of preconstruction and then another with a Director from the same department. After that, I had an in-person interview at their construction manager's office. The whole thing happened pretty quickly, within about 5 to 10 days.
- Can you describe your experience?
Planner
I applied online and the whole process took about 2 weeks. First, I had an online assessment which included verbal and numerical tests, pretty standard stuff. After I passed those, I had a telephone interview that lasted around 25 minutes. I felt like I did really well in the interview, it was pretty chill and I think I made a good impression. Unfortunately, I think my rejection was because they needed visa sponsorship, which is something they should have brought up way earlier in the process.
- What is your reason for choosing Skanska?
- Can you name some current UK projects you're interested in contributing to?
- What makes you want this specific role?
Scheduler
It was a 3 interview process. First I spoke with Human Resources, then I met with regional managers, and finally with the project team. A Skanska hiring manager was my point person throughout the whole thing, prepping me before interviews on who would be there and what to expect.
- How do you see your role and what are the crucial aspects for success in it?
- What do you think are the most important parts of doing your job well?
