First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SEA (Singapore).
Frontend Engineer
The HR wanted me to introduce myself and asked about my internship and project experience. They also asked a few questions about simple frontend concepts. The HR briefly skimmed through the company and job description and when prompted further, they said they were not sure since they are not an engineer and I could ask more if I proceeded to the next round. They did not seem too well versed about the role.
- Can you tell me if a block element exists in HTML and explain it?
Data Trainee
So basically the HR didnt get back to me on an email I sent about a question I had before the interview. Then in the actual interview, the guy seemed like he really didnt want to be there and was just dead the whole time. He asked me to introduce myself, talk about my experience, and describe any projects I've done. There was also a case study, but he never said what software they used for it. He only read out the job description *after* asking the questions, which was weird. And when I asked him what the company actually does because I wasn't sure from the website, he just repeated the job description back to me.
- Can you tell me about a project where you analyzed data?
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process had 3 rounds. First was an online assessment which lasted 70 minutes and included 10 multiple-choice questions, plus one easy and one hard LeetCode problem. Then there was a technical interview focusing on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) that took 2 hours and involved solving 3 medium LeetCode problems. This was followed by a 1-hour System Design interview where I had to design Quest System. Finally, there was a 1-hour HR interview focusing on behavioral questions.
- Tell me about your experience with DSA, and could you solve some coding problems?
- Can you describe your approach to system design, using Quest System as an example?
- How do you handle behavioral questions related to your experience?
Legal Counsel
This was the second round of the interview and it was a really unprofessional and rude experience. When I asked about the next steps, the interviewer just laughed loudly and mockingly, then mentioned an assessment and said 'let's see how and if you could do that,' followed by more ridicule. It was just one person laughing disrespectfully. I can't believe an MNC would conduct interviews like this; the whole vibe was demeaning. It makes me wonder what it's like working there.
- Can you introduce yourself and detail your previous work experience?
