Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SEA (Singapore).
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process had 3 rounds. First was an online assessment which lasted 70 minutes and included 10 multiple-choice questions, plus one easy and one hard LeetCode problem. Then there was a technical interview focusing on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) that took 2 hours and involved solving 3 medium LeetCode problems. This was followed by a 1-hour System Design interview where I had to design Quest System. Finally, there was a 1-hour HR interview focusing on behavioral questions.
- Tell me about your experience with DSA, and could you solve some coding problems?
- Can you describe your approach to system design, using Quest System as an example?
- How do you handle behavioral questions related to your experience?
Software Engineer
Had a phone screening with multiple choice questions on CS fundamentals where more than one answer could be correct. Then, there were 2 technical interviews that were white boarding sessions focusing on algorithms, data structures, data modeling, and networking. Finally, I had a round with the manager to talk about company culture.
- What contributions do you think you can make to our team?
- Can you answer some multiple choice questions on CS fundamentals?
- Can you solve some algorithm and data structure problems?
Software Engineer Intern
After submitting the application, there's an aptitude test that needs to be finished before the HR contacts you for an interview. This was a 15-20 minute fireside chat/interview where the HR discusses the company structure/main pillars. They also go over the interview process if you're shortlisted, which includes 2 more technical interviews and 1 with the team lead. The HR didn't turn on their cameras during this session, and I've heard many capable people didn't pass this round. The overall experience was fine, but I was definitely intimidated by the negative reviews on Glassdoor.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about your previous work experiences.
- What do you hope to gain from this internship?
