I had a recruiter call where they tried to match me with a senior role even though I'm a recent grad. I told them my qualifications and limitations, but they insisted I was a good fit. The interviewers seemed confused during the Zoom call, which was supposed to be an hour but ended in 30 minutes. They kept asking about my experience with different technologies, and I kept saying no, which increased their confusion. One interviewer didn't even turn on his camera. I don't blame the interviewers, but I do question the recruiter's motives.

My resume was reviewed by the manager and this was the only interview I had. The manager asked if I was comfortable performing all duties listed in the job description and if there was anything in my background that might disqualify me for this role. I confirmed I had a clean background.

Coding Technical Behavioral

The interview process involved two main rounds. The first was a Data Structures and Algorithms test, which was a live coding session with an interviewer. It lasted 45 minutes and had 2 easy questions. I solved both and discussed my approach. The interviewer asked about my thought process. The second round was a Technical Round, originally planned for 15 minutes but extended to 40-50 minutes. It was a Q&A covering my resume and CS fundamentals like OOP, DBMS, and OS. I didn't feel this round went well, but I was still selected. Overall, I'd say it was Easy to Medium difficulty, and I received an offer. I think the DSA test was more important, and the company values problem-solving skills over just memorized fundamentals.

Interviews were held through Teams and in person. The overall process was quite straightforward and involved typical questions for the role. My negative experience with SAIC stems from their unprofessionalism in sending a generic denial email after I invested time in researching the company, taking time off work, and updating my resume. This lack of personalized feedback after multiple interviews is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company's hiring, supervisory, and leadership teams.
