It was a remote interview that felt like a relaxed conversation between me and the hiring team. They made me feel comfortable throughout their easy interview process. They asked behavioral and situational questions to see how I solve problems.

The initial interview is basic to confirm you have the necessary skills. They'll talk a lot about internal promotion and valuing employees, but on this specific contract, it's not true. Management plays mind games, and long-term staff face no consequences for not doing their jobs. It's chaotic and messy on a good day. Be careful if you care about your mental health; I would have been better off as a barista looking for a different job.

Behavioral Technical

The interview started off pretty rough, I think. The recruiter contacted me and seemed to have my resume from job boards. It felt like typical call-center tactics, or maybe the recruiter was looking for something totally different from the hiring manager. The first part, about 10 minutes, they were really stressing that the job posting for 0-1 years of experience actually needed someone with intermediate experience. Then they went after certifications, pushing for ones that are for the level I want to be at (IAT 2) rather than my current level. They also got a bit posturing about me 'presuming about their business' when I made an offhand comment about my more niche license probably not being valued. There was also a tangent about whether I'd applied elsewhere based on that niche license and disbelief that nobody values it. They finished up with some general contempt for my work history, criticizing me for only listing the last 5-6 years. Then we finally got to the actual job description and metrics. I decided to end it there because the metrics made it sound like a dead-end for skill development. The whole thing was about 15-20 minutes. The role was described as 'essentially systems admin,' but only for walking users through tasks.
