RWE says they care about diversity and inclusion, but my experience as someone needing reasonable adjustments was different. I asked ahead of time for a video interview extension because of things I couldn't avoid and because I needed accessibility help, but no one got back to me, and the link just expired. It's a letdown for a big company like this to not have people watching the process, especially since I already did well on the first tests. Real inclusion means helping and talking to people, not just using automated systems.
- Can you tell me what you know about RWE?
Strategy Manager
The interview process started with a phone screening by a recruiter. This was followed by an hourlong interview with the consulting team focusing on experience and fit. The final stage was a 'case' interview, which was surprisingly more like a typical management consulting case (e.g., estimating how many tennis balls fit in an aquarium) rather than a case specific to renewables. I felt the recruiter and team could have been clearer about this and offered better guidance for preparation.
- Could you tell me about your experience managing difficult stakeholder relationships?
- What makes you interested in RWE?

Once in the assessment center, there is a group task first followed by individual interviews. The group project doesn't require a lot of previous knowledge but it'll be useful to understand the energy market. Mainly just looking for people who are charismatic and contribute, For the individual interviews, a knowledge of CCGTs is required, There are also technical questions specific to each role but most likely there will be a question you won't be able to answer. The main thing is to not make up anything, just be honest when you don't know and they might give you a clue. They're looking to see you're thought process.
- Can you explain how a CCGT power station operates and why it's more efficient than older power generation methods?
IT Graduate
So there's this online assessment thing using Arctic Shores, it's about 40 minutes long and has four different tasks. They want to see how well you can juggle tasks, spot patterns, do number stuff, and stay focused without getting distracted. It spits out a report telling you how you did on all these attributes. The assessment itself was okay, but honestly, I haven't heard anything back after doing it ages ago, which is a bit of a bummer. Like, just a rejection would be better than being left hanging.
- Four interactive tasks that assess focused attention.
- Four interactive tasks that assess cognitive agility.
- Four interactive tasks that assess inductive reasoning.
