Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RWE.
IT Developer
RWE says they care about diversity and inclusion, but my experience as someone needing reasonable adjustments was different. I asked ahead of time for a video interview extension because of things I couldn't avoid and because I needed accessibility help, but no one got back to me, and the link just expired. It's a letdown for a big company like this to not have people watching the process, especially since I already did well on the first tests. Real inclusion means helping and talking to people, not just using automated systems.
- Can you tell me what you know about RWE?
Graduate Developer
The interview process was pretty structured. First, there were individual interviews focusing on task management and prioritization. Then, a coding challenge that was enjoyable, with interviewer assistance. After that, a group discussion with about 5-6 people. The company culture seemed good.
- Can you tell me about your CV?
- How do you handle managing multiple tasks at once?
- What's your approach to prioritizing tasks?
Product Developer
This interview process was super unprofessional and impersonal, taking weeks. I had to send HR lots of extra documents. I talked to two engineers who barely spoke and an incompetent HR person. Nobody seemed to have read my application or the job description. The vibe was really bad with a lot of awkward silence. It felt like they didn't know what they were looking for. My salary expectation of 80K€ pa didn't stop them from inviting me. The interview was in English, but the interviewers weren't great. I didn't get an offer, and it really felt like a low-tier division of RWE.
- Why are you the best candidate for this role?
