So, I had 5 interviews in total. It started with a quick technical screen with the hiring manager. After that, I had three more interviews with engineers on the team. The very last one was with the director of the controls group, the big boss.

I had an interview call with the hiring manager, then an on-site interview with the production manager and the Director of the Department I was interviewing for. After receiving a verbal offer 10 days prior, there was a final, unexpected interview with a VP.

Had a quick call with Talent, then a phone interview set up with the Regional Manager. It was pretty simple, the RM was easy to chat with and was upfront about his experiences at the company. I think they're a good company that had a rough patch according to employee reviews. I only did 1 round of interviews because I withdrew my application for a better offer with my current employer. I would've liked to know what the next steps were. I was surprised the first interview wasn't on Teams or Zoom, it's 2022 and we have the technology... I'd recommend to their managers to use the technology we have today instead of a phone call; I prefer to see eye to eye and I'd imagine they would too for professional roles. Overall, an okay experience.

It was a two-part phone interview process. First was a screener call. Then, the second interview was a deep dive into what the role required. We talked about the negative GlassDoor reviews. They asked me if I liked sports and what kind. I said football, and they launched into a story about a football team and its 53 players, and how even good players can get cut if better ones come along, to explain the motivation to be a top player. I found it an interesting way to look at things, and it made me think about the advice to hire people who could replace you. The conversation was really lively and engaging. By the end, the hiring manager was saying they might need to reconsider the position or how it was structured, as it seemed less like a typical Channel/Product Marketing role and more like Marketing Communications or Business Development.
