The hiring process took a long time, about two months. I had several interviews via Skype, phone, and in person. They even flew me out to their Tucson offices for two days of meetings. The HR team was great and handled all the travel, then followed up to ensure I had a good trip home and to reimburse any travel expenses.

The interview process was quite lengthy, as expected. It took up a lot of time. I interacted with a minimum of 15 individuals, including the VP of Sales, his assistant, and other administrative personnel. I was also invited to have dinner with the company's owners, but unfortunately, I had to decline because of a family emergency. The company seems very well-managed. Regarding compensation, I received exactly what I asked for without any negotiation.

HR got back to me quick after I sent my resume. The phone interview seemed to focus more on testing my technical knowledge rather than discussing my sales and business development achievements. While I had the field expertise from my background in chemical/petrochem/refining, I think they were really looking for someone with an Ag engineering background. My being an avid golfer who's played internationally and lives in a dry area didn't seem to help.
