So, I had 5 interviews in total. It started with a quick technical screen with the hiring manager. After that, I had three more interviews with engineers on the team. The very last one was with the director of the controls group, the big boss.

I had a phone interview and then 4 more rounds, one of which was technical. Everything was virtual because of covid. They offered me the job but I asked for more pay since it wasn't the base pay I said I'd accept. I never heard back from them after that, even though they said they would. It would have been nice to get a reply, like a courtesy, or if they valued my time. I felt like they saw me as a resource rather than a person.

The folks I met with were super friendly and happy to answer anything I asked. They even showed me around a bit, though the tour was short and didn't show too much. I had one-on-one chats with several people on the team at different levels, which gave me a solid feel for how they operate. The start of the visit was a bit weird though, with just a security guard and metal detectors instead of a receptionist – not the best first impression, even though other parts of the place were nicer.
