The job application went smoothly online. I got an interview invite after applying. The recruiter first talked about Rabobank’s culture and the internship. Then, we went over my studies, past projects, and why I was interested. The questions weren't too technical, focusing more on problem-solving and team fit. The vibe was nice and supportive.

The interview process involved a series of tests. First, algorithmic questions were posed, specifically asking to identify the second-largest number in an array. Following that, logic questions were presented, focusing on scenarios like card flipping, card statistics, and probability calculations. The interviewer was looking for answers that demonstrated deduction and logical reasoning. Additionally, questions about market fundamentals in commodities, foreign exchange (FX), or interest rates were asked. It was important to show knowledge of the market and that you were well-read.

The interview was nice and to the point. In about 30 minutes, I spoke with a recruiter and a marketing lead. They specifically asked about my experience organizing events, managing stakeholders, and my ideas on brand experience at a big company like Rabobank. I also got to ask my questions, making it a two-way conversation. The vibe was professional but open. It wasn't a standard questionnaire, but really focused on the role's content. They were clear about expectations and the team's context.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • How do you strategically think about event marketing?
  • Share your perspective on using events for internal and external communication.
  • Explain how you manage relationships with different stakeholders, including executives and vendors.

I had a 45-minute call with both a recruiter and the technical manager. We introduced ourselves, and they asked about my visa status. The technical manager asked two questions, which I think I answered well, and we finished the call in 26 minutes. I felt like the technical manager could have asked more questions if she wasn't satisfied with my answers to the first two, but she didn't. It wasn't a great experience overall.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Why are you interested in our company?
  • What is your visa status?
  • Can you tell me about your previous experience?
