Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rabobank.
Data Analyst
This was all about soft-skills and dealing with stakeholders. They wanted to know how I deliver feedback, handle pushback, influence people without having authority over them, and resolve conflicts. Basically, a lot of classic hypothetical questions about what to do when faced with zero cooperation from others. There were no technical questions at all.
- How do you approach giving negative feedback?
Data Analyst
The first interview was online with the hiring manager and a team member. We all did a quick intro about ourselves, like our hobbies and interests. Then, we moved on to questions about work, like how to deal with conflict and what a typical day looks like.
- How would you manage a task that unexpectedly came up in your workload?
Data Analyst
I applied online and then had a phone interview which was a bit of a surprise, but the person I spoke with was super nice and we had a great conversation. After that, they invited me to the first round of interviews with two people. One was in a senior role, and the other was newer to the role but had been with the company for a few years. They were both friendly, though the senior person seemed a little rushed and their questions weren't always crystal clear.
- Can you start by telling me about yourself?
- Can you describe a time when you had to determine which data points might suggest unusual activity?
