My interview experience at Publix was a bit strange. I had to interview four times, and each time at a different store because of some internal transfers happening. I don't think this is how it usually goes there, but it felt all over the place since leadership changes seemed to make things start over. Even though I interviewed several times, I didn't get an offer. Everyone was nice and professional, and the stores looked well-run. But the whole process took a long time and kept changing, so it was hard to know what was happening next. It felt like it was just a situation that happened and not a reflection of Publix itself.

It was a pretty easy, conversational interview for the pharmacy technician role. The questions were pretty standard for any retail position. They asked about my customer service experience, how I'd handle difficult situations, and how I'd react in certain scenarios. The whole process was really laid back and it was just a phone interview, so I didn't have to go into the store.

It was decent. They ask questions relevant to the job, but if you are not prepared to sit and wait 30 minutes for an interview, don't go. I sat for almost 45 minutes. I was on time, signed in and waited. It shows the professionalism of the business when they demand you be on time, but fail to be on time themselves. It shows that they will never appreciate that your time has value.

So, the first interview was on Microsoft Teams with 3 people. We started with introductions and they asked about my background. Then they told me about the job. After that, they asked some basic tech questions. Then they asked me to explain what the role was. I gave them a quick summary of what they just told me, but they went on to explain stuff I didn't mention, which felt like a waste of time and made the chat go longer. Because of that, I didn't get to ask my questions at the end.
