I interviewed with PDS Dental and while I wasn't chosen, the experience was disappointing due to how the process was handled afterward. Initially, things went well. The team was nice, I did an in-office shadow, met leaders, and felt there was real interest. I was told I'd be recommended, which made the lack of follow-up really frustrating. After putting in a lot of time and effort, the rejection was handled unprofessionally. No phone call, no real closure, just abrupt and impersonal communication, which is surprising for a role needing strong people skills. Candidates should get timely, direct communication, especially after going through several steps. This experience showed a lack of respect for applicants' time and poor recruiting etiquette. I hope they improve their hiring communication.

I had a virtual interview first, and then they invited me to the office. There, I met the team and had one-on-one interviews with each member. They offered me the job right after.

The initial recruiter call was very unpolished, and it was clear they hadn't even read my resume. They initiated contact via text to inquire about something but cut me off as I was answering. This confirmed my suspicion that they hadn't reviewed my resume and were relying on outdated information from the career website. A lot of past praise from coworkers who went to work for PDS didn't hold up, as not one of them is still with the company. I reached out to them for feedback and realized that the best thing that happened was this interview debacle.

After the initial phone interview, things were looking up. I was scheduled to shadow for about an hour and then interview with the manager. On the day of the shadowing, the manager was unexpectedly absent. It turned out she was busy onboarding another new hire and said she'd contact me later. No problem. The next day, I reached out, and she apologized, suggesting a virtual interview. I agreed, but then she changed her mind and asked if I could come to a different location for an in-person interview, which I also agreed to. The day before that scheduled interview, she texted asking to reschedule for a virtual interview later. At this point, I was frustrated but still agreed. A week passed with no follow-up, so I reached out again. No response. I was essentially ghosted without any explanation. If you're in the Midwest, be cautious of this company. The place appears disorganized, and the manager embodies that disorganization.
