This was a terrible interview. The interviewer was 15 minutes late for a 60-minute interview. It started with 'tell me about yourself' and a quick overview of my tech background. Then we moved to a DSA question, which was a medium-difficulty LeetCode problem. I first proposed a brute-force solution, which the interviewer initially said wouldn't work, then admitted it would but wasn't what they were looking for. As I started thinking about optimization, with only 20 minutes left and 15 minutes into the DSA part, the interviewer abruptly ended the interview, saying we were done.

Got contacted by HR on Naukri, and they set up the interview process pretty quickly. It was a three-stage process in total. The first round was all about technical skills, specifically DSA and JavaScript. They threw an array-based DSA question at me, and I had to talk through my solution before actually coding it. Then came a bunch of JavaScript questions, covering basics all the way up to tricky stuff like closures, the event loop, promises, and array methods. It was pretty much a fundamentals check. Round two was a deep dive into frontend, focusing on React.js. They grilled me on core concepts like component lifecycle, hooks, state management, memoization, and how to optimize. After that, I had to tackle two machine coding challenges in React, where I had to build small components and handle state, updates, and edge cases properly. That was the tough one, really tested my hands-on React skills. The last round was with the manager, more of a chat. We talked about my career aspirations, past projects, challenges I've handled, and how I solve real-world problems. Also touched on teamwork, deadlines, taking ownership, and what we both expect. It was mainly to see my mindset, how I communicate, and if I'd fit in.

The interview process had 3 rounds. It covered business cases, SQL, and HR. The first round involved some SQL questions and case studies. The second round was purely technical, focusing on SQL questions. The final round was more about my background, followed by more guesstimates and case studies.

I interviewed for the Senior Product Manager – Travel role at Paytm a month ago. It was a disappointing experience. I first completed a detailed assignment and prototype. After submitting, there was silence for two weeks. HR said the interviewer was traveling. I followed up again two weeks later, still no response. After a month, I got a rejection email with no context. Candidates put in a lot of effort on assignments, and companies should provide feedback. Not respecting candidate time reflects poorly on the company's culture.
