First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PACCAR.
Electronics Intern
It was 2 technical rounds and 1 HR round. The first round covered basics of electronics, and the second round had project-related questions. HR asked about daily habits and how I plan my day. The difficulty was easy if you communicated well.

Software Test Engineer
Applied and got a call for a 30 minute phone screen which was casual. After a month, they emailed to schedule an in person interview. A week later, they confirmed the interview in less than two days and mentioned a presentation is needed, with business professional attire required. The interview included a short HR interview with behavioral questions, a 15-20 minute presentation on a past project, and two panel interviews with the team and managers. Questions were behavioral, with some overlap. No technical questions were asked. It's been two months with no response, assuming I didn't get the job, but a rejection email would have been better than being ghosted. The interviews were fine and polite, but the lack of communication was frustrating.
- What would you do if your manager told you to skip testing a critical safety feature?
Marketing Manager
The interview process here was pretty weird. I got an email to set up a 30-minute interview with the marketing leader and two other people, but I wasn't told it would be a group interview. It ended up being a panel interview with 3 people. At the beginning, the leader said he had an internal candidate he wanted to hire and this was just a conversation. He mentioned he'd only been in marketing for 4 months with no prior experience, having been promoted from a different department. He emphasized employee tenure and didn't seem interested in getting to know me. It was clear he intended to hire the internal candidate and wasn't looking to hire externally. I never got a follow-up or a response to my thank-you emails, and a few weeks later I got a standard letter saying they hired the internal person. This company clearly wastes people's time and doesn't care about candidates who are serious about the role and want to join.
- Do you have any knowledge about trucking?
Marketing
This was the longest and most frustrating interview process I have ever gone through. After multiple interview rounds and even completing an assignment, I waited for a month with no updates. I reached out to the recruiter several times for an update but got no response. I eventually received an automated rejection email, which felt very rude given how much effort and time I put in. It's disappointing that after such a long process, they couldn't even provide a personalized rejection. I would not want to work for a company that operates like this.
- Have you used applications like Microsoft PowerPoint before?
