First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oyster.
Partner Marketing Manager
The whole process was super well-thought-out, letting me really dive deep into Oyster, the role itself, and most importantly, the people. This gave me a great feel for the company culture, values, and how they work. There was also a challenge tied to the job, which was explained clearly with enough time to actually do it. The people team was great about giving feedback at every step, making me feel genuinely cared for. Honestly, a really positive experience!
- Walk me through how you'd plan and execute a project relevant to this position.
Account Executive
I had a phone screen with a recruiter. They said they'd get back to me in a day about next steps because the team needed to discuss headcount. I followed up twice and didn't hear anything until the end of the week. Then they ghosted me for a month before emailing that they weren't sure if they were hiring for the role. A week and a half after that, I got an email at 5:30am ET on a Monday saying the team was no longer hiring for the role. The company was super unprofessional and disorganized, and also unaware to email candidates at 5:30am on a Monday.
- Can you describe your sales process from your previous job?
Onboarding Success Manager
This was one of the best interview processes I've ever gone through. Big shout out to the recruiter Bernadette, who's not only a great professional, but also an amazing human being. She made sure to keep me posted at each stage of the interview process, always available to help if I had any questions or needed any information. Their process is quite straightforward, with 4 stages, where you can meet the hiring manager, some peers from other teams and do a roleplay. Everyone was very kind and friendly during the video meetings.
- Could you share some examples from your previous roles about how you would manage specific situations like xy&z?
Onboarding Success Manager
I applied and got an email to record a video answering these questions: Why am I looking for a new role? Something that is not on my resume? How would I manage a difficult situation? Then I had a 40-minute interview with the Recruiter. She explained the job, asked me to tell her about myself, and gave me time to ask questions. After that, I was moved to another interview on a different day with the manager. They asked me behavioral interview questions for 30 minutes.
- How would you handle a customer who is very frustrated with the onboarding process?
- Describe a time you had to be very detailed about the customer onboarding process.
- Share a time you exceeded customer satisfaction.
