Business Development Representative
So Oyster, they wanted me to record a 1-minute intro on why I wanna work there, then I had a first interview with the hiring manager. The business hiring manager explained the interview process to me and it sounded like it was gonna be really long, especially since the base pay was under £35,000. There were like 3-4 more steps after that. I was confused because I got rejected right away, before I could even talk to the hiring manager, even though the business hiring manager said they would move me forward. They want a response like 'I will do X to achieve Y' for quota questions, but I'd want to ask the hiring manager about what's really going on in sales first to tailor my answer. They said they're moving forward with someone with more skill/experience.

Business Development Representative
I got an invite on a Friday evening to complete an "asynchronous video interview." It was a video assignment, and I had to record myself for one minute answering some questions. The deadline was 48 hours, over the weekend when I was traveling. Because I was traveling and couldn't finish the video on time, I emailed the two hiring people to ask for an extension. I didn't hear back until a few days later when I got an automated reply saying I wouldn't be considered for the role because I missed the video submission. I think this is a really bad candidate experience and has put me off working for Oyster, especially since neither recruiter replied or accepted my LinkedIn requests.

Business Development Representative
The interview process for the BDR role had 3 interviews. First, I talked to the hiring manager, they asked some really unique questions and answered all mine. Second, I met with the hiring manager and the BDR Enablement Manager. This was tougher, I had to prep a case study for a potential customer and an outreach cadence, then present it. They were really nice and made me feel comfortable though. Third, it was a culture fit check with a BDR and an Account Executive. It felt like a casual chat between salespeople, they were super friendly. The whole thing took about a month from applying to the offer, and I really liked it all!
- Can you share your previous experiences and how you stay organized daily?
- How do you structure your work to ensure you meet your targets?
