The interview process was a mess, constantly rescheduled and at the last minute. It started with HR, then the hiring manager, and finally a panel interview. However, if one panel member couldn't make it, I had to go through it again. The interviewers, directors in credit risk, were hierarchical and condescending. It felt like a one-sided grilling for 45 minutes, where nothing I said was right. I only got 3 minutes to ask about company culture. Each interview was 45 minutes long. They clearly don't prioritize hiring or value candidates' time, given the reschedules and no-shows. Don't bother.

I finished an online HireVue interview for Optus that had 5 questions. I haven't heard back from them after two weeks. I hope this is useful for anyone else getting ready for the same process. We were told to use the STAR method for the interview. I want to share my questions because others' shared questions were helpful to me.

If your resume passes the initial screening, you'll start with a video interview. It took about a month to schedule a phone interview after that. Following the phone interview, I received an invitation for an in-person interview at the store a week later.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process started with recorded video responses to common questions. If successful, the next step was a 15-minute phone interview with a recruiter. My scheduled interview with Jasmin didn't happen at the agreed time. After I followed up, she said she was double-booked and would reschedule. Within an hour, I received an email stating I missed the job opportunity. This lack of transparency and communication from Optus was very disappointing and put me at a disadvantage compared to other candidates, contradicting the company culture they presented.

  • Describe how you'd manage a conflict with a teammate.
  • Can you share an instance from your past where you resolved a conflict?
