First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ola.
Business Head
It was a really fast process. They asked me some case study questions, like how to expand into new businesses or optimize current ones. I had four rounds total with business leaders, consultants, and HR. They really seemed to care about my past experiences and if I showed resilience.
- Can you propose a cost optimization strategy for a logistics business?
- Describe how you would approach expanding into new business areas.
- How would you optimize existing business operations?
Business Analyst
The interview is mostly about checking if you know the basics and fundamental stuff. It's a lot about thinking logically, solving problems, and how you approach things with clear, structured thinking. They want to see that you have a good grasp of the core subjects and can think critically and use what you know in real situations.
- Can you explain JOINS?
- What about Order Execution?
- Do you know Python, specifically Pandas?
Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
It was a 3 round process. They asked about my previous experience and some technical questions on financial modeling, planning, and variance analysis. The interview went well, and I got an offer and joined. After the technical round, there was an HR round regarding pay and negotiation.
- Can you describe your past work experience?
- Do you have experience with financial modeling?
- Can you discuss your experience with planning?
Product Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It involved three rounds of interviews that all happened within a single week. Everything was virtual and the interviews mainly focused on product cases and behavioral questions. What I noticed was that after the rounds were done, it was really hard to get an update on the outcome. It took the HR about 3 weeks to tell me I was getting an offer. To make matters worse, they offered a lot less than I expected, which made negotiating frustrating, especially since I had already set clear expectations before they even started the process.
- What steps would you take to enhance the experience for disabled individuals using Olacabs?
- In what ways could technology be used to substitute the sales staff at Ola experience centers?
